How To Host An Amazing Galentine's Day Vision Board Party — Thrive Lounge (2024)

I walked to the front of my office building to find a limo driver, full white-glove service, opening the door to a beautiful black town car.

I sat in as he explained he’d be taking me to my “first destination.”

Unaware of where I’d be going, but giddy with excitement and anticipation, I awaited my fate. We pulled up to the Four Seasons in Washington, DC.

The driver opened my door and I walked around, trying to figure out exactly what I’d be doing there. I inquired about reservations at the restaurant and the front desk, with no luck. Finally, I made my way to the spa where I had a one hour massage scheduled.

After my massage, I called the man I was dating (let’s call him Mr. Extravagant) to thank him for the lavish gift.

“The driver is outside waiting to take you to your next destination,” Mr. Extravagant said.

The town car took me to the St. Regis Hotel, where I learned my next surprise was in the penthouse suite. I laughed about the overt extravagance (something I’d never before experienced in my lifetime). Then I heard a knock at the door.

The hotel staff walked in with champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a black bag.

Mr. Extravagant put his hand inside the black bag and tossed the contents into the air and I watched in amazement as rose petals rained down all around me.

This was not the best Valentine’s Day I ever had. (In fact, I wasn’t even with that loser a year after that extravagant day.) But that’s another story.

The following year, I spent time with people I loved, and would still love unconditionally for years to come: my girlfriends.

Over food and drinks (and a mesmerizing burlesque show), we swapped stories and laughed about the reality of simple things: the frustration of constant sacrifice in an effort to support loved ones, bad dates, siblings who seem to always leave you to lift the family on your own, jobs that don’t pay nearly enough for all the work to be done, and bosses who never seem to recognize your contribution.

We were all in and loved each other. And that love was more than enough.

Honestly, anytime I get together with my girlfriends is life-changing, but my absolute favorite is with a vision board party.

In this post, I’m sharing how to host a Galentine’s Day Vision Board Party for your closest girlfriends.

What Is a Vision Board Party?

A vision board party is a goal-setting event where you create a visualization of your goals.

You can do this alone, but when you seize an opportunity to bring your friends and the people you care about most together to create a vision board, it can be even more fun, and impactful.

A vision board party is an opportunity to create a visual guide that you can use to guide yourself along the path to achieve, even exceed your goals.

Why Should You Consider Hosting a Vision Board Party?

A vision board party with your girlfriends is a great opportunity to focus on yourself. Most women these days are stretched thin with raising kids, taking care of elderly parents, work demands, social activities, volunteering, and church commitments…. which often means that self-care falls to the bottom of the priority list.

Settling in to create a vision board with others who are doing the same thing is an opportunity to spend a couple of hours focusing on YOU, without the demands of other people taking up your time and energy.
